Dan Kennedy is the morning anchor for 13News Now (WVEC) in Norfolk/Virginia Beach. In addition to anchoring a lively, viewer-focused morning show, Dan also files investigative reports for the evening newscasts.

Dan was previously a reporter for Nashville's #1 station, News Channel 5 (WTVF), where he was recognized with two Emmys for his work on breaking news. Dan also traveled to report on stories of national interest including the Gatlinburg wildfires and Hurricane Irma's impact on Florida.

Dan began his career in his hometown of Chattanooga as a reporter at WRCB. His investigative series into a dilapidated cemetery earned him recognition from the Tennessee Associated Press in 2015. He also received awards that year in the categories of "Best Anchor" and "Best Reporter."

It was at WRCB that Dan met and fell in love with a fellow reporter, his now-wife, Kelly. They live in Norfolk with their son, Daniel, and dog, Pearl. Dan and Kelly frequently race in half marathons, and completed the Chattanooga Ironman 70.3 while raising money for The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.

Dan is a graduate of the University of Missouri School of Journalism, where he studied Broadcast Journalism and Business. While in school, he worked as a correspondent at Newsy and a reporter for KOMU.
